V E Bonfire, at the bottom of Flatts Lane where there was a gate into Whiston Hall farmyard.

Front first left, Jack Howlett, his father and brother, (who lived at the bottom of High Street in the house just before the Chapel), are standing next to the policeman. The lettering on the banner spells out 'Depression'.
