John Foulstone c.31 JAN 1841 was a Joiner, living at 131 Wortley Road, Kimberworth in 1881. He married Sarah A. born 1843 at Darfield.

Children of John and Sarah Ann Foulstone:

George Crowther Foulstone, was a Buffer and Glazier at a Motor Works. Jane A. Clark (1884-1948) was born in Denaby.

Alice Foulstone age 21

Alice Foulstone (1919 to 2005), was the daughter of George Crowther Foulstone and Jane Anne.

She lived all her life in Whiston, at Sycamore Cottages, 44 High St and later at Fairbank Close.

She worked as a milk lady delivering milk covering an area from Moorgate to Rotherham for Jack Clay, of Whiston Hall Farm, for most, if not all her working life.

A spinster, she was well known and well regarded in the village, as was her father.

Alice was connected to the Clark family who lived in the middle house across from Sycamore Cottages on High Street.

A visitor to this website can remember seeing water rush down Cowrakes and Hungerhills, when they were just lanes, and the grate on High Street was blocked with soil and stones. As a result water ran down the Foulstone's cellar grate (Sycamore Cottage) and out of the cellar kitchen back door.
