Edward Hill, a farmer, was married to Sarah. According to 1871 census they were farming in Whiston. They were both born in 1791 in Yorkshire. Children:

- Jane age 9
John b.1801 married Sarah (b.1801) Fisher on 3rd July, 1822 at Treeton. They were still living in Treeton in 1841, John was a shoemaker. From 1849 he was victualler of the White Swan. They had 5 children:

Francis and Louisa had 3 children John, Tom and Sarah all christened 09 OCT 1864 Treeton. Living at 36,Main Street in 1891 were Francis Hill,Head,M, aged 53 a Joiner,born 1837 Treeton, and his wife Louisa age 51, born 1839, Huddersfield Yorks. Children:
- Frank Hill,single age 22,Coal Miner, born Woodhouse Yorkshire
- Mary Hill,daughter, single age 18, born Treeton
- Alice Hill,daughter,age 12, born Whiston
- Frank Hill,Grandson age 1 month, born in Manchester.
Francis and Louisa also had a daughter Louisa b.1867 Guilthwaite.
By 1891 John (b.1865) had married Annie Bartholomew and had a daughter Ada E. age 10 months; they were living with Annie's parents Thomas Bartholomew and Jane at 42 Main Street.
