Robert Spendlove was baptised at Wirksworth in 1823, one of 9 children of John (farmer) and Sarah Spendlove Source

Robert Spendlove born in Belper Derbyshire, in 1823 married Mary Ann Styring also born in 1823 in Whiston. They married on 15/11/1853 ? . Robert died in 1880 and in 1881 Mary was living at Guilthwaite. She died in 1887.

1. Elizabeth AKA Betsy June born 1847. She married George Bottomley, a Shoemaker, born 1846 at Whiston on 2/07/1867. (1871 census)
2. John Spendlove, born 29/07/1848 , died in 1850
3. Matilda Spendlove, born in1850, married Henry Jarvis, b1846, a Building Contractor at Whiston on 02/08/1870. (1891 Census)
4. Mary A Spendlove married John W Hardwick. See Hardwick Family Tree
5. Robert Spendlove, butcher, born at Catcliffe in 1853 married Mary C ? , born 21/11/1853
6. Gervas Spendlove, born 07/03/1861

1. Henry Jarvis born in 1875 , an Antique Dealer
2. John S Jarvis(1880-1920), a butcher. He married Alice Crowther ( 1878-1968)
3. Thomas S Jarvis born in 1881 . Occupation Butcher

It is possible that John was named John Styring Jarvis and Thomas was named Thomas Spendlove Jarvis again after grandparents
