Stanley
In 1750 William Stanley was a shoemaker.
William Stanley c.1801 a Shoemaker, married Hannah Wood c.1802 (dau Wm & Eliz) on 30th July, 1821. Children:
- Sarah christened 9/06/1822
- Elisabeth christened 01/02/1824
- William ¹ christened 26/09/1830 married Sarah.
- Mary Ann christened 26/09/1830
- Thomas² Charles christened 30/01/1836 married Ann Ellis from Catcliffe
- Martha Jane christened 16/07/1837, M. Benjamin Street
- John christened 03/10/1841
- Emma born about 1843 married George Holmes, Kitchen Range Fitter
In 1862 Charles Stanley, a merchant, was living at Broom House.
In 1881 Hannah Stanley,aged 80, living at 27 Main Street with her son in law and daughter.
William ¹ (b1830) was a Gardener, he married a Sarah from Worksop and sometime during 1871 they moved to Treeton and were living at Church Lane with their children who were born in Whiston:
- Fanny age 9
- Ann age 6
- Thomas 5 months
In 1881 William and Sarah were living at Brampton Road, Brampton Bierlow.
