Ric Starkey was mentioned in an ancient deed at Catcliffe in 1536.
Francis West m. Joan Starkye May 1591 Rotherham. Francis mentioned in the will of William West.
Robert Sanderson bought an estate at Guilthwaite of Gregory Starkie, of Markham, Nottinghamshire. By Indenture, dated October 3, 1603, he conveyed this to George Westby, yeoman, for £710.
Thomas Starkye was steward to the Sitwells of Renishaw mid 17th century.
