Whiston Families

Yeardley

In 1871, Mary Saunders, a widow aged 66, born Masborough, a Grocer, was living in Whiston with her unmarried son, Thomas Yeardley, an agricultural labourer age 45, born Masborough, Rotherham. (Was Mary, the wife of Joseph Yeardley died 1830?)

 

In 1881 George Henry (Yardley) Yeardley was living with his uncle, Reuben Hall, and his wife, Ann at Parkins Houses, Ecclesfield. His sister Emma, then aged 9 was also living with the Hall's.

George And Emily Yeardley

By 1891 he was married and living at Mona Cottages, The Pieces, Whiston, he was aged 27, and a Coal Miner, His wife, Emily (Nee Wainwright), aged 29 was born in Walton Derbyshire. George and Emily had seven children, five girls and two boys:

George (b.1899) married Daisy Kennen, daughter of Harry Kennen of Thurcroft

George and Daisy ran a shop in Thurcroft, which was originally owned by Daisy's father Harry Kennen.
