Burrowes of Guilthwaite

The will of Richard Burrowes of Guilthwaite, Whiston, was written on the 20th February, 1616, when he was described as weake, feeble and diseased , stated that he was to be buried in the churchyard at Whiston.

Beneficiaries of the will:
son-in-law George Westbie and Francis his wife, 10s;
son-in-law Henrie Westbie & Elizabeth his wife & everyone of her children had by her former children had by Thomas Tailor her former husband, 10s each;
son-in-law John Webster and Alice his wife, 10s each;
natural son John Burrowes and Hellen his wife, 10s each;
sister Alice, 20s;
poor of Whiston, 20s;
wife Joane Burrowes, £100;
Henrie Younge, clerke, 10s,
every servant, 3s;
godchildren,5d.

The will was witnessed by: Henrie Younge, clerk, Thomas Robinson and James Thompson. Proved 10th January,1627.
