Reverend William Howard
Reverend Hon. William Howard was born on 23 April 1815 at St Georges Parish, Welbeck St , Middlesex. He was the son of Rt. Hon. Kenneth Alexander MacKenzie Howard, 1st Earl of Effingham and Lady Charlotte Primrose.
He married Barbara Frances Wilhelmina Chester, of Levens Hull, Westmorland; daughter of Lt.-Gen. John Chester and Sophia Elizabeth Stuart, on 12th February 1862. He died on 12 May 1881 at age 66, without issue.
Reverend Hon. William Howard held the office of Rector of Whiston from 1841 until his death in 1881. He held the office of Canon of York.
Notes re Charlotte Primrose: Charlotte Primrose was born at Holland House in 1776 and died in 1864. She married Thomas Holmes, a scripture reader over fifty years her junior, at Preston on 28 April 1858
