Rotherham and Pleasley Turnpike 1846

Notice is hereby given, that the next meeting of the Trustees or Commissioners of this Road will be held, pursuant to adjournment, at the White Hart Inn, in Eckington, on Wednesday, the 20th of May next, at 12 o'clock at Noon, for the purpose of transacting the general Business relative to the said Road.

And Notice is hereby given, that at the place and on the day above mentioned, between the hours of 12 o'clock at Noon and 2 o'clock in the Afternoon, the Tolls arising from the several Toll Gates or Bars, and Chains upon the said Road, will be let by Auction for one year. In the manner directed by the Acts of Parliament passed in the third and fourth years of the reign of his late Majesty, King George the Fourth, for regulating Turnpike Roads. The Tolls are now let for aggregate net Yearly Rent of £340. in the several lots, and at the Yearly Rents, hereafter mentioned, that is to say:

And will be put up in the same lots at those respective Rents, is at such other Sums as the Trustees shall think fit. Whoever or declared the best or highest bidder, must at the same time pay one months rent in advance, (if required,) and give security, with sufficient sureties to the satisfaction of the Trustees of the said Turnpike Road, for the payment of the Rent at which such Tolls shall be Let, at such times and in such proportions as the said Trustees shall direct.
