Liberal Campaign
July 1885Last night Mr. Dyke Acland, the adopted Liberal candidate for the Rotherham Division, addressed a well attended meeting at Whiston.
Mr. J. D. Styring of Whiston, presided, and a more representative meeting has not been held in the country districts during his campaign.
A vote of confidence in Mr. Gladstone was proposed, and supported by Mr. Acland. After reviewing the principal measures which had been passed for the benefit of the masses, Mr. Acland dwelt on the land question.
A resolution passed pledging the meeting to support Mr. Acland., meeting was enthusiastic throughout.
